A modern, completely restored complex like PaPa deserves today's most modern technologies. That's why every effort has been made to integrate smart mechanics into Pacific Palisades' design.
Lighting
Lighting energy accounts for a large percentage of total energy usage in a building. Under the guidance of Total Lighting Solutions, PaPa designers have used efficient light sources such as LED and fluorescent fixtures throughout Pacific Palisades. All light sources have been chosen for long life and all fluorescent lamps are environmentally friendly with reduced mercury content. Occupancy sensors reduce overlighting and daylight controls turn lights off when there is enough daylight.
Heating
PaPa’s domestic hot water and heating systems are state-of-the-art and will deliver thermal efficiencies as high as 90%. Each suite will be equipped with a thermostat to provide better comfort, temperature control and energy efficiency.
Wi-Fi
Being connected is an important part of everyday life, whether you’re at home or at work. At Pacific Palisades, we’re happy to provide our residents with complimentary WiFi in The Commons.
Intranet
When you live at PaPa, you’re part of a community. We want to help make it easy for you to communicate with each other and with Austeville Properties. So we’re developing PaPaNet, on which you’ll be able to do such things as: share skills; buy, sell and trade goods; pay your rent simply and securely; reserve meeting rooms in The Commons, and more.
Green initiatives
They say the greenest building is the one already built. We agree. We’re happy to have preserved a Vancouver landmark while extensively upgrading it with environmentally friendly systems and features.
In addition to the systems that power the buildings—such as efficient lighting, heating and ventilation—PaPa suites feature low-flow toilets and faucets, EnergyStar appliances, low-VOC paint and materials with a high recycled content.
